Trusted Pallet Racking Suppliers
Advantage has many years of experience installing heavy duty industrial racking for a plethora of sectors and has the skilled team to ensure you find the right pallet racking system for your business.
Pallet racking is the most versatile form of heavy duty industrial racking, and various types suit different companies’ methods of working, production and warehousing depending on the system installed. Consisting of vertical steel frames which are then connected by horizontal beams to create a bay area to which pallets can then be added, pallet racking can be adjustable, very narrow, double deep, drive in or through as well as mobile systems amongst others.
Choosing the right pallet racking system will benefit the business in terms of stock management, operations, and logistics, saving time and energy, in addition to being easier to retrieve items more quickly and with safety for employees. Storing stock on a solid pallet racking system will also help to free up warehouse or unit areas for other production processes.
Depending on the stock your company is storing or supplying, a ‘first in – first out’ system (FIFO) or even a ‘last in – first out’ (LIFO) system can help you to keep your turnover of stock flowing, giving you greater inventory control.
Choosing the Right Pallet Racking System for You
Every business has different storage, operations, and logistical needs, and Advantage understands that the right racking system for your company will need to be as unique as you are. Advantage offers an extensive range of pallet warehouse racking systems and services to guarantee that the system you have installed will best serve your business’s operations.
When it comes to finding the right pallet racking system for your business, there are a number of factors to consider. The available space for the new racking system, the way that your stock needs to be stored and be available for use or shipping, how the stored stock needs to be accessed, health and safety regulations, as well as the budgetary framework your company has available. If your company has stock that needs to be used in order, for example, food or beverage items, the system will need to allow for the older stock to be released prior to the more recent stock, and this will require a different system of pallet racking than a company which stores and supplies building materials with no date-sensitive stock.
Our knowledgeable team can guide you through the process to help you discover the most effective heavy duty industrial racking solution for your operations, ensuring that it meets safety regulations as well as maximising the available area of your warehouse, or industrial unit.

What pallet racking systems can we install?
Wide Aisle Adjustable Racking
This is the most typical and straightforward form of pallet racking. Usually accessed by forklifts which add or remove merchandise running parallel to the rows of racking. The number of racks needed will depend on the size of pallets used, whether UK or EU and the degree to which they are loaded.
Narrow Aisle Racking
As implied by the name, this pallet racking system uses floor space more efficiently by reducing standard aisle widths from four metres to just over two. However, it will require the use of a specialised narrow forklift or turret truck.
Double-Deep Pallet Racking
The double deep pallet racking system increases storage capacity by using guide rails on the higher levels and beams on the lower, they suit a ‘First In, Last Out’ (FILO) system of stock rotation. The drawbacks include reduced selectivity and less direct access to all loads.
Drive in/through Pallet Racking
Both of these pallet racking systems maximise available storage space by eliminating the need for work aisles as forklifts load and unload directly into the racking system. With a single entry and exit aisle, the drive in system operates on a LIFO principle, and the drive through system uses the FILO method with one end for unloading and the other for loading.
Push Back Pallet Racking
Pallets are loaded into low-friction trays that move backwards and forwards on trays, which are on rails and operate a FILO inventory method. When the front pallet is removed, the next slides forward as the rails are on a decline. This pallet racking system is perfect for high-density storage, allowing two to four pallets to be stored in line.
Mobile Pallet Racking
As suggested by the name, mobile racking systems are mounted on wheels or rails allowing racking shelves to be moved laterally to create lanes that forklifts can access. Mobile racks are incredibly space-saving and are perfect for cold storage where their density keeps energy costs down.
